Transformation Yoga Project
In August 2018, I joined TYP creating social media as well as blog posts. Working across Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, I analyzed our strategies and audience engagement.
Following the internship, I began working with TYP as a paid contractor to continue in social media support and content creation, as well as join their community engagement team. I've taken on roles in organizing events and assisting in recording and photographing to capture more original content.
Working with the different program directors, I've lead campaigns supporting the nonprofit’s programs through monthly campaigns, like crowdsourcing $10,000 in March for “Criminal Justice Month” fully funding a 200-hour yoga class for men in prison taught by TYP instructors, as well as the second annual Yoga Day at the Union event with the Philadelphia Union, that brought together the Greater Philadelphia community at Suburu Park and raised money for TYP programs.
Other TYP campaigns I worked on include:
- Recovery Month 30+ for 30: TYP partnered with local yoga studios and community spaces during September to host 63 donation yoga classes all month long to celebrate Recovery Month's 30th anniversary and support the nonprofit's Recovery programs.
- #GivingYogaDay 2018 & 2019: As the start of TYP's annual End of Year campaign, #GivingTuesday takes place the Tuesday following Black Friday and Cyber Monday to start the giving season. Both years I was part of this campaign, TYP hit its goal of $5,000 in 24 hours.
- Virtual Community Offerings: At the beginning of the Coronavirus Pandemic, 100% of TYP's programs paused. Instead of pausing itself, the organization shared two free resources to its online community members – Morning Facebook Live trauma-sensitive yoga classes and afternoon Zoom meditations. We uploaded all of these resources to TYP's rebranded YouTube channel for anyone to use anytime.
After launching its new website at the end of 2020, I was responsible for website updates and blog post writing.
